Rome and Oneida County

Our yard sits right on 5707 Rome-Taberg Rd in Rome, and this is still where most of our work happens. From here we run out to seven towns (Verona, Westmoreland, Vienna, Floyd, Lee, Ava and Annsville), five villages (Camden, Oriskany, Whitesboro, Holland Patent and Clinton) and one hamlet (Taberg). Every one of the 13 places we serve outside Rome itself sits inside Oneida County.

If the container has to sit on a public street or sidewalk rather than your own driveway or yard, who governs that placement depends on where you are, because New York's municipal taxonomy genuinely varies by place. Inside Rome itself, that is the City's own right-of-way placement process under the City of Rome’s right-of-way permit application (no specific fee is published anywhere we could confirm, so we never print a number as gospel here) — call the city to confirm current requirements. Private property itself is unregulated everywhere. In our service-area towns, it is each town's own elected town board and highway authority; in our service-area villages, the village runs its own separate process for its own streets; and Taberg, the one hamlet we serve, has no government of its own, so the encompassing Town of Annsville is the authority there. Oneida County government itself has no direct right-of-way permitting role in any of these places. Confirm the current fee and process directly with whichever office applies, and allow lead time before you plan a same-day drop.
